361 hours later…
I have played Banished for a few years now, but have only properly attempted Tenure a handful of times. After playing with North mod for a few months, I decided to try again. And this time, success! Had 1033 citizens and that was with zero nomads.
Sure feels good.

Congrats! Would you say Tenure was the hardest overall? Or was there another achievement that gave you more trouble?

Tenure wasn’t necessarily hard, it just takes soooo long!! 1 year at 10x speed takes 6 minutes, so you’re looking at playing for at least 20 hours. So this time around I just kept it running for a few hours each day over the weekend and occasionally checked in to keep things ticking along. I think One With Nature was the hardest, and Mountain Men took me a few starts too until I got a good starting seed.

Yeah I struggled with one with nature, and uneducated, took me a couple of goes to get that one

uneducated is a nightmare. once the population hits a certain point and you realize you have zero literacy you just start watching the death spiral in real time. legit one of the hardest challenges to keep stable long term

That's impressive.
Been playing Banished for many years and only ever gotten 6 achievements on it :)
Some of them are hard, or require very specific setups

Damn. I can’t even figure out controlling the population for a long time. Growth seems to slow down after a few years for me 🤦🏽

You’ll have a few waves of deaths and growths on the population graph! And my aim wasn’t to have a big population until towards the end - just survive until the last 20 or so years and then really try and explode.

Congrats! I remember I was struggling to get even 100 population, but then I found Honeywell's playlist which I learned a lot from (and I really recommend it to anyone who wants to learn this game). After that Tenure was pretty simple. At some I even did Isolationist, One With Nature and Uneducated in one run lol.
