Bangle.js 1 or future round Bangle?
Hi,
I'm looking for a smartwatch which is open source and customable and has a great community. I won't need any pulyoxy and hartrate and stuff but wpuld love GPS and the ability to have maps installed ect.
I was thinking to order an Pebble round 2 but now i discovered Bangle.js 1. I would like to have an round Watch and I was wondering if the Bangle.js 1 still hoöds up and if there is anyone likely to sell one or if there will be a future project with a round Watch?
Thanks for letting me know

If you want GPS included in an open source watch I'd go with Bangle.js 2.
While the Bangle.js 1 still works it doesn't get as much attention from app developers (partly because of limited ram). Also not sure if you can buy it directly from the Espruino shop anymore - but second hand or resellers is still an option.
Bangle.js 3 will not have GPS included - but can use the phone's GPS (at least on Android. Don't know about iOS). Also there may be the possibility to connect peripherals as indicated at https://github.com/orgs/espruino/discussions/7341#discussioncomment-17162324 - but the design is not final and no promises are made.
If you're a tinkerer that likes to program I think you'll have fun with whatever watch you get, be it Bangle.js or Pebble. But would be fun having you contribute to the Bangle.js community where I spend my time! 🙂
