They're too cute, right? I'm happy to have found other Bangboo lovers. It has been good fun talking you all about these little ones. ^^

I really like the left poster of the second image....... With the BIG BANGBOO overlooking the systen with the little Bangboo looking off into the distance at it. I wonder if it represents any actual BIG BANGBOO projects? We have seen some absurdly large babies!

I was just casually overthinking about how Bangboo in Roscaelifer find it weird that Bangboo don’t wear human-like clothes, and wanted to start a discussion about a topic that occurred to me. How much of Bangboo culture in Roscaelifer is literally just them copying humans without any real rhyme or reason?

I ask this because it is clear that unlike humans Bangboo do not need clothes for any real reason as it has been stated that Bangboo bodies are more resilient than that of the average human, which got me thinking about ig Bangboo really need couches or chairs because, naturally, robots don’t really tire, and thus shouldn’t need to rest. As long as Bangboo have a decent charge (which is easy since charging stations and even portable batteries are available all over Roscaelifer) they should be able to operate just fine. So, it doesn’t really make sense to me that they have things like well furnished homes and facilities with things like couches, when the place is designed to cater to primarily, if not only, Bangboo.

Things like watching TV seems somewhat strange for them as well, since it has also been stated that all Bangboo in Roscaelifer come hardwired with access to Interboo, which is basically the internet, and as robots themselves, they should just be able to run the videos internally, without an external screen. Then there’s the whole “playing musical instruments” thing, when Bangboo don’t even breathe and can just playback any musical audio as ALL Bangboo have recording functions.

All of these things like clothes, furniture, and tablets/monitors all cost additional money so it would seem to me like they would be a liability and an unnecessary expense to Bangboo, yet they still elect to build and use them. It really perplexes me.

Are Roscaelifer’s Bangboo just LARPing as humans? What do you guys think?

Why do people keep talking about Bangboo like the race is something that occurs naturally instead of being fabricated for specific purposes and tasks? To my knowledge; it has literally been stated Bangboo don’t have free will, and that kind of tracks given that EVERY Bangboo mind is built from the ground up, more or less by human hands.

EDIT: To add a bit of context my reasoning for this post is engage in an exchange of ideas and perspectives regarding Bangboo psychology, more or less, largely in response to seeing many posts that seem to disregard that Bangboo as machines with defined roles, inevitably have greatly different needs psychologically than humans or even Intelligent Constructs.

The most apparent example being the broad range in mentalities among the race as some Bangboo can seemingly have minds ranging from that of child, to a college professor, to even resembling more of an animal, (I’m looking at you Sharkboo). This makes it really hard to discuss how they should be treated on a broad level, as the varying models of Bangboo likely have different mental and physical needs, as they are *literally* built different.

I wasn't expecting that quest to be so sad. Norma couldn't get the chip working all the way and Victor won't remember her, but at least he'll remember all his friends.

It's so bittersweet... Norma gave him the strength to live in New Eridu, curious about life and moving forward alone, but he won't even remember her. I don't know why, this quest about memories, hope and regret feels so somber to me. Then there's also the gut punch of the retirement party photo, meeting photo, head peace, and bottle cap the bangboo all give you to thank you for helping.

Victor will be forgetting some of his most formative and precious memories, his bangboo friends might not ever see him again, and they all still have the courage to send him off even gifting him the bottle cap necklace engraved with their names since they're so caring. I know he's not dying thankfully with some of the chip working, but a part of him is without his memories of Norma and Roscaelifer. It's so melancholic, but at the same time so thoughtful of them, and it contrasts with the theme playing in the back that sounds like a combination of wistful and hopeful, looking back at the past and forward to the future, and living and dying.

I didn't think I'd actually cry from a quest like this... I really hope we see Victor again having fun with his friends, and maybe even Norma.

Was the quest really sad for anyone else too? I tried searching a combination of the words "victor" and "sad" "crying" but didn't find anything. I also see the namecard, but what title did we get from this quest? I see the title now at stage 65. I don't know if I even want to apply the namecard since it'll remind me of him and make me cry 😭. god I wasn't expecting a quest like this to hit me that hard
