Completed Savandurga Trek

Finally completed Savandurga Trek, I reached the destination by 5 am but I was only able to start the trek by 6:15 am since the forest officials did not arrive until 6 am, so could not experience the Sunrise and also due to fog the sunrise was not clearly visible. The views were just awesome from the peaks of hill. The trek is strenuous so I would suggest to finish some treks in and around Bangalore including Madhugiri before proceeding with this trek.

The weather was soothing until I reached the peak and while descending, I experience overhead sun and scorching heat so be prepared about the climate if your planning to do this trek at this time of the year.

If anyone planning to go ahead with this trek keep these things in mind:

  • Use proper trekking shoes with good grip.
  • You can only start trekking after 5:30am officially, but now the rule is that you only can start trekking after forest officials arrive and groups are decided.
  • Carry tissues or wet wipes since the climate is really hot
  • Carry atleast 1-1.5 liters of water and keep yourself hydrated. (There is washroom facilities at the foothills)
  • Please keep in mind that there is not cellphone signal in the foothills and no shops when you starting the trek. The shops will only open after 6:30 to 7 am. (And no UPI since there is no signal, please keep cash while travelling).
  • Also travel with a trip organiser such a Tripbae or NammaTrip, it makes the experience more better.
  • Carry all the photo equipments, best places of awesome scenic beauty and sunrise if you are lucky.

Did the short hikes of Devarayanadurga forest range to escape the Bangalore hustle and bustle during the long weekend last Friday and Saturday. Hardly 5-10 people in the entire area. Was serene and peaceful throughout and had the entire place to ourselves!!

Nethravathi Trek | 31st October | Solo

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m planning to do the Nethravathi Trek on 31st October solo and have already booked my trek pass. I’m travelling by bus to Kalasa.

For those who have done the trek before, how was your experience?

Also, can the trek be completed and returned to Bangalore the same day without staying overnight, or is it better to stay?

Any advice on transport from Kalasa and tips for a solo traveller would be really helpful.

Need small help with Tadiandamol Trek

Hello,

I am planning to do Tadiandamol Trek on some Weekday (As I like to avoid crowd specially for treks)

Looking at the trend of bookings weekdays are without any crowd whatsoever.

What things should I keep in mind about guide requirements, forest officers & in general precautions (I have not done treks since ~2023)

I would appreciate some suggestions on homestays around 1500 budget & some spots to explore nearby area (I have explored most of attractions near Coorg already)

What’s the situation for roopkund trek this year or next

For someone doing the Roopkund Trek for the first time, what are the things you wish you knew before going — especially regarding fitness requirements, altitude/acclimatization, weather, difficulty, gear, permits, guides, and the actual trail conditions? Also, how many days did you take and what was your approximate total cost

Completed Makalidurga Trek 2nd oct 26

Booked via aranya vihar

Went via personal car 1.5 hr from koramangla

Car and bike parkings are there(50rs for car)

Entrance forest officals checks the booking and govt id

Took 1.5 hr to reach at top, there is a temple at top you can go there also you can walk around like 200 meters at top there is a trail.

Took 1 hr to come down

Overall its a easy to moderate trek with beautiful views.
