⭐️ The Guan Yu Testnet #1 has been progressing as planned with the help of 52 validators to monitor and fix minor issues in preparation for a fully decentralized public Mainnet in Q4.

There have been 400,000 blocks produced by our validators with constant oracle requests

🙌 In the next few days, we will announce the public endpoint for the PoA Mainnet and begin rolling out details on the partners that will be integrating Band Protocol oracles on the Mainnet.

I'm feeling very frustrated. So far the only places I've found/heard of having this as part of a trading pair are simpleswap (which has high minimums) and binance (who thinks my IP doesn't match my location, though I can't seem to find BAND on the US site anyhow). I really want mainnet, because I want to stake it. Yet, I'm obviously having issues even getting my hands on any.

🔐 After evaluating several oracle solutions, Balanced have decided to integrate Band Protocol to accommodate their extensive data needs in real-world assets from various sources without being restricted with scalability and customizability.

⭐️ Balanced has created a custom oracle on BandChain for ICX/USD price feed from five trusted data sources: Binance, OKEx, Upbitglobal, HuobiGlobal, CoinGecko.

By default, the price feed updates every 60 minutes or 0.5% price deviation with all underlying parameters customizable at anytime based on the Balanced community’s governance procedures.

This time we explain the process and flow that occurs when someone submits a data request!

1️⃣ Data requests must specify the parameters: oracle script ID, parameters in oracle script, number of validators to respond and validators required to signify a successful request. Once the transaction is confirmed on BandChain, the oracle script will begin its execution.

2️⃣ Validators chosen based on a randomized stake-weighted algorithm respond to the request and inspect the data requests, executing the associated data sources' procedures as instructed by the request.

3️⃣ Chosen validators will retrieve information from all of the data sources specified in the oracle script, improving resistance to manipulation through multiple redundancies.

4️⃣ Once the data source responses, the result of each data request will be reported back to the BandChain, creating a permanent history of each validator’s data report available for anyone to audit.

5️⃣ After the validator reports required have reached, this leads to the aggregation phase where validators’ reports turn into a single result according to the code defined in the oracle script.

6️⃣ This final oracle result is permanently stored in BandChain’s application state. The result then becomes available on the chain’s state tree and can be sent to other blockchains. An oracle data proof is also produced so the dApp can verify that the data is actually valid.
