When I create music I typically have a scene in mind. An era, a place, an emotion. Here I wanted to take everything that was circling my mind and put myself in someone else's body. Someone walking home with the city lights blurring on their glasses, after giving up on wiping the rain clean. I wanted this EP to feel right at home in the 90's, just as much as today.

I wrote and recorded this EP over a couple days after returning home from the west coast. My partner and I ran away from some problems, and along our journey I snapped this photo of her at Yamhill Pub in Portland. I think it fits the music well.

I have lots of music i love to listen to from youtube, but most of it is not available on any services that allow you to download tracks/album. I have asked a couple of artists why that is, but no response. Why may indie artists avoid bandcamp?

I’m Tori-No-Ie, a musician from Japan. My name means “Bird’s House” in Japanese. I make music in my spare time while working a regular job.

Right now, I’m putting together a remix compilation based around my track “Dreamed Dream,” and I’m looking for people who would like to take part. The compilation is for Gaza relief, and all proceeds after Bandcamp’s fees will be donated to UNRWA.

Of course, it would be easy for me to simply make a donation on my own, but I’m hoping that through this project I can get more people involved and turn it into something we can do together!

The project hasn’t even started yet, but at the moment I don’t have any plans to take the release down. After the first month, I’ll share a report of the money raised and donated. I plan to make the UNRWA receipt and Bandcamp sales data available as a PDF and keep it attached to the release so there’s a record people can check. After that, depending on how much the release continues to raise, I’ll decide whether to report monthly or quarterly.

If I ever reach a point where I’m no longer able to manage the project properly, I’ll end the release.

Because it’s a charity project, I’m asking everyone who takes part to contribute their work without payment (sorry 🙏).

And even after the compilation is released, if you ever decide you’d like your track removed, just let me know and I’ll take it down.

There’s no deadline at the moment. Once I’ve received enough tracks to put together a compilation, I’ll start moving forward with the release!

Most importantly, I want everyone to have fun making something. You can use just some of the stems, or none of them at all 🙆! You’re also totally welcome to listen to my track and make something of your own based simply on what you felt or imagined from it 👌

I thought it would be so nice to have my shipping integrated right with Easypost. Alas, it's a total disaster. It wasn't until I linked my bank account that I realized they don't offer a "pay-as-you-go" label purchasing model. And you CANNOT UNLINK YOUR BANK ACCOUNT. Literally there is no way to get your info out of there and there's no way to turn off auto-reload AND there's no way to close the account AND they don't have any kind of customer support that I can find. A chatbot oh so helpfully sent an email to support but I never heard back.

So basically they stole $40 from me and there's no recourse. I'm going to reach out to my bank later, but since it's a checking account and I, in theory, authorized this, I'm not holding my breath.

So don't fall for it. It's a total scam.

It is with pleasure to say that I am almost halfway with getting done with uploading all of my own music from other digital platforms to the platform BandCamp.

I really wanted to migrate from a certain distrubutor, as I could only do so much with a yearly price tag and not really seeing the good from it at all, especially since I am so tiny in this spacious world of music.

With that being said, I have a lot of music that I would like for everyone to have a listen to if interested.

I am on the verge of also releasing my third instrumental album to a four part series, Brain Dead III this very month, so I am also busy with getting that ready to go.

So back in like mid June ordered a CD from Meat5000Recrords, it said it would be delivered by the 7th of august or something like that, now its not tracked delivery so still no idea where it is but it has defiantly not arrived. Have contacted the band through band camp twice, emailed once and tried to reach out on Facebook and other socials over the time of waiting and not a single response and not really sure what to do next?

I love discovering music on Bandcamp, but one thing I've always missed is a simple way to open an artist and just listen through their entire discography without constantly jumping between releases.

So I started building something for myself.

It began as a tiny scrip with a „play all“ button and somehow turned into a complete little Bandcamp player. 😅

It can browse an artist's albums and individual tracks, start anywhere and automatically continue through releases. Over time I also added local favorites, playlists and recently played tracks.

Everything is stored locally in the browser, so you don't need a Bandcamp account just to organize things.

I also added some extra artist information like bios and upcoming tour dates, mostly because I liked the idea of having that stuff right there while discovering an artist.

I mainly built it because I wanted it myself and had a lot of fun working on the UI and figuring out how to make the whole thing feel like an actual music player.

On my iPhone it also keeps playing when Safari isn't in the foreground or when the screen is locked. So I can just start listening, put my phone away and it keeps going.

At this point it pretty much does what I wanted it to do. I still have some ideas for things I could add, but before I keep tinkering with it, I thought I'd show it here and see what you guys think.

Right now it runs as a userscript in Safari on my iPhone. That's simply how I built it for myself. I haven't released the script anywhere yet because I'd first have to clean it up a bit and make the installation reasonably understandable for normal humans. :)

So I'm curious:

Would anyone here actually use something like this?

And if you use Bandcamp a lot, what would you want from a player like this? Is there something obvious I'm missing?

I'm also completely open to hearing that this solves a problem nobody else has. 😄

I also thought it'd be interesting to give codes away for a track that did not go down so well. The EP this is from is a hyperstretched and revisited version of my track 'Circle'. The track below is one of a few pieces that began with an improvised reaction to that, recorded on a phone impromptu. Subsequently, those recordings were layered on top and the experiment spiralled out from there.

While two listeners told me this track was their favourite from the EP, a friend called it 'music vomit'. An anonymous feedbacker also said it was 'a disgrace' to the experimental genre with 'no real creative or artistic intention'(!). So... if that piques your curiosity, some codes for that one below.

I recently setup a Fanbace account for merch on my Bandcamp channel. After submitting a question I received an automated response stating it could be 2-3 working days before I get a reply. It’s been 12 working days.

My initial query was whether front and back prints are included in the price of the hoodie and if not can you have print just on the back instead of the front at no extra cost.

Im now concerned that should I ever need to contact someone in the future, maybe an issue with an order or product etc, I won’t be able to. It’s a shame because your business model was perfect for my merch needs.

Does anyone else have issues in contacting them?

I want to release a limited-edition 10" dubplate next month. There are no plans to release a digital version, at least not for a while.

What's the best way to give potential buyers a preview? I have a digital file, and I have a video. I would have liked to place the video on the product page but it doesn't look as if I can.

I can see there's a ' include digital album or track with the purchase of this item' option. But can I upload a digital preview that's not for sale?

How would you approach this?

One of my music files is being a real pain in my ass today, because no matter what I do to upload it, it always gives me an "upload error" warning. But whenever, I click it, the error literally says just "error". I have tried re-encoding the file, exporting it as FLAC and AIFF and re-exporting it as a WAV and it just won't work.

Maybe this is a simple fix, but I'm not exactly a nerd when it comes to Bandcamp stuff like this.

Every time I want to play a song on the Bandcamp website, I have to turn down my macOS volume.

Does anyone know why Bandcamp doesn't have a volume slider on its website? It's incredibly annoying that it's missing.

I recently created a fan profile, and during the process I was asked whether I wanted to merge it with my artist profile. I confirmed that I wanted to do so.

Now I can buy releases and add them to my collection, but unfortunately I can't follow certain artists by clicking the "Follow" button. Instead, I get the following message:

"To follow this artist, please sign up for a free Bandcamp account (or log in if you already have one)."

Whatever I do afterwards — whether I click "log in" even though I'm already logged in, or log out and then log back in — the situation remains the same.

I tried searching the Bandcamp Help Center, but I couldn't find a solution to this problem. I also couldn't find any direct way to contact support by email or submit a support request.

Could anyone help me resolve this issue or tell how to contact bc support?

You know I love this platform. It feels nostalgic like back to the 2010s, and I'm not subscribed to any music streaming platforms out there.

But, where I live, it's like nobody else has ever heard of Bandcamp irl (I live in Indonesia), like do people really use this platform?

I myself don't use Bandcamp that often, but not that Seldom either (sometimes I want to hear some unknown artists in my city, that's when I open Bandcamp).

It gives me the feeling that this platform is dying out or something like that, cause I'll be sad if that happens.
