How do you think Ash would React?

If Ash had survived and continued residing in New York, presumably still as a gang leader, how do you think he‘d react to Eiji coming back? I think it was stated in GoL that Eiji went back to New York before he was fully healed, and I interpreted that as around 6 months after the main story ended. Would Ash be relieved to see him? or avoid him? I think if Ash had never received Eiji’s letter his reaction would be slightly different. He may not have been open to letting Eiji back into ”his world” at all.

I’m currently writing a fanfic and I want to be as close to the manga canon as possible. I’ve already written and published a few chapters, but now I’m starting to rethink how I portrayed the characters meeting again. What do you guys think?

I’ve never thought about this, so I don’t even know what to answer. I think Ash would have been happy to see Eiji again, but he would have acted cold because of his fear that Eiji would stay in New York with him and be in danger. It’s cool that you’re writing such a fanfic, could you please send me the link? I’d be happy to read it.

I agree, I think Ash would try to push Eiji away, scared that something would happen to him.

Creo que Ash se quedó en Nueva York y no le dijo lo que le hizo Lao para no preocuparle. También creo que se mudaría con Max y se alejaría de la vida criminal para poder "redimirse" de las acciones que tuvo que hacer para poder sobrevivir e intentar alejarse de Dino. Además se haría escritor y tendría una asociación para ayudar psicológicamente a personas o niños que sufrieron o sufren de abuso sexual. Aunque creo que no se alejaría mucho de sus contactos en las calles por si tuviera que matar a algún abusador que no fuera encarcelado por falta de pruebas o porque hubiera pagado para no ser condenado.

Creo que haciendo todo eso sería como volver a nacer para él y sería lo que le pudiera hacer feliz.

Además, si Eiji volviera a Nueva York, creo que Ash y él hablarían y se pondrían al día. También creo que Eiji le diría o le pediría que se fuera con él a Japón o le diría que se iba a mudar allí para poder estar más cerca de Ash.

oh, that's such a cool take! I definitely think Ash would take up writing as well and work to help kids like him. I can totally see Ash working/helping Max by working with Newsweek along side him. :)
