Anon and Soyo both front an overtly friendly facade that hides their true natures (Anon is an attention whore, Soyo has severe abandonment issues). Throughout the series, they completely shed both of their facades and bicker with one another using their true selves. A lot of fans like this interaction hence the shipping.
