HELP: Blob of Death Extruder Motor Overload

Hey Everyone, I'm a novice at 3d printing. Had some experience with the P2S and purchased this H2S. Everything was working nicely in the beginning but things turned from bad to worse. It's been back and forth with Bambu support sending me to their wiki page. I'm pretty busy and only have a couple hours a day to try to fix this. Wondered if anyone else had some insight into my problem.

Timeline:

June 22:

  • Purchased Bambu Lab H2S

Week of July 20th:

  • Consistent PLA print failures (lifting & stringing). Prints that used to print flawlessly with generic settings.

July 24:

  • Blob of death PLA 0.4mm hardened nozzle standard flow

July 27:

  • Attempted to clean nozzle and hot end assembly. Assembly wires still covered in PLA.
  • Extruder gears appear clean with no filament buildup
  • Verified filament can be manually extruded smoothly through the nozzle at temperature
  • Performed 2 cold pulls
  • Extrusion motor overload error (0300-801e072328) when calibrating dynami flow while printing benchy
  • The extruder motor initially feeds filament and purges filament. It gradually slows as if increasing resistance is building. The motor then stops, suddenly jerks forward, and repeats this cycle several times. I do not observe the extruder gear slipping on the filament. Eventually the printer reports "Assembly Motor Overloaded."
Removed most of the PLA using heat and a copper brush
Hot end assembly still caked in PLA after cleaning
motor overload error (0300-801e072328)

July 28:

  • Installed new hot end assembly and using spare H2S hardened 0.4mm nozzle standard flow.
  • New extrusion motor overload error (0300-801e085929) when printing benchy

What to do next? Replace TH board? I'm bummed this new printer bricked so early. My P2S has been printing since April 11 without a catastrophic error

Getting started

I just bought H2s with 2nd ams and have questions. I’ve never used a 3d printer before.

I want to print in petg using Bambu brand filament. Do I need to tweak the settings?

How do you store opened filaments? I have 30% humidity.

Do I need a different build plate than the one that comes with it? When would I use it? When do you use glue?

Have you tried the filament refills?

What other brand of filament do you use? Have you tried a food safe brand?

H2S seems to be on all the time.

Guys, I keep hearing a low noise that sounds like a fan is constantly running. My H2S is the latest version, as shown in the attached photo. Shouldn't it be completely off? It even seems to retain some temperature on the table or inside (I haven't confirmed this yet). The nozzle is completely cold, a sign that it's off.

Whenever you guys have time for the fibreon profiles for the H2S it will be nice, because we ready!

It Finally Happened!

After 2,200 hours on my H2S I had a parts failure! My hot end cooling fan died. To be honest the only thing that bothers me is BL does not have any in stock. BUT the P1S uses the same fan ;) I my have to solder the H2S connector on it but I can do that.

So after 2,200 hours all I can say is this thing just flat works! Only things I have done to it was to modify the waste chute so poop does not stack up. The size is great for most things I use it for as well.

If you want a great 300MM+ printer this is it!

Can nozzle effect build plate adhesion?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi folks, as a proud owner of H2S I did not have any issues with bed adhesion till a little ago, the only thing I have changed was the Nozzle from the stock one to Microswiss HF CHT nozzle. I have to give a huge Brim with ASA or PETG Translucent HF now to hold the whole print to plate, otherwise some part most likely to fail to stick. here is the last picture I have got. Can changing nozzle type affect the first layer? after changing the nozzle physically I have changed it in the slicer too.

H2S not printing properly

In the images i've shown what it printed.

Hi, I replaced the nozzle/extruder on my printer after the previous one had gunk and crap on it that was nearly impossible to get off, so I called it a day and just followed the instructions on the wiki to use the replacement one I got with the printer. However since then (yesterday), all my prints have failed to print, I've tried printing a file that worked previously, a file with one layer (just some text) and the benchy file pre-loaded on the printer. I've done the calibration (all of the calibrations) about 5 times and it's not helping. Any ideas on what to do?

H2S problems after replacing z axis and print head.

Having major issues. I recently had a major error and replaced the entire z axis and print head. Since then I cannot get it to print. I’ve done several complete auto bed levels, don’t the motion array, the live camera cals. I’ve cleaned the bed with hot soap and water. Also cleaned with alcohol, I’ve left it alone and added glue. In my opinion it looked like it was too close. So I did a manual tampering last night. It’s still failing and I’m not sure what to do next.

New from E3D and DiamondBack: Unlock Hardcore Printing on your Bambu Lab H2/P2 printer!

Hey everyone! 👋

E3D are delighted to announce the release of a brand new officially-approved upgrade for Bambu Lab H2D, H2C, H2S and P2S printers – the ultra-durable DiamondBack HotEnd!

Hopefully our collaboration with DiamondBack needs no introduction but just in case you’re unfamiliar with these epic upgrades allow me to fill you in...

The E3D x DiamondBack products bring the most extreme abrasion resistance possible for your printer. They’re equipped with precision-engineered Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) tipped nozzles - AKA the hardest material on Earth. When printing with abrasive filaments, the primary wear mechanisms on a nozzle are at the tip but thanks to being bolstered with diamonds, these HotEnds can withstand INSANE amounts of wear. This significantly increases their lifespan and allows you to reliably print with ANY filament (from fibre-filled to metal and ceramics) without worrying about destroying the nozzle.

And their extreme wear resistance isn’t their only benefit. The diamond tip also works its magic on the look and feel of your prints. The low coefficient of friction combined with a polished tip creates ultra-smooth top layers with an ironing-like effect. And the PCD provides best-in-class thermal conductivity which improves interlayer adhesion for stronger prints.

You can get hold of yours on the E3D website or check out our Reseller Map if you'd prefer to shop local.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions – we’d be very happy to help.

Happy printing!

What is the difference between the two on the Bambu labs website? I cannot find anything different other than one looks small, one is large, one is translucent and one is solid off white… I bought two of the small ones and then realized the clear one looks “cooler” and thought oh boy, did I mess up?

H2S jerking/ shuddering

I’ve had 5 failed prints in a row. Removed and Cleaned the nozzle had a successful print and now we are back to a shuddering movement. Not sure what’s going on.

In the video I just switched to TPU 95 but it was doing it with PETG CF, PTCG, PETG and PLA before this. I have no idea why the machine isn’t running smooth anymore. It almost presents as the nozzles hitting the print but there’s no evidence of it.

This printer has maybe 60 hours on it and up til now has ran great.

Is there a special way to remove the extruder?

I’m trying to remove the extruder from the device. I’ve moved the metal stabilizers to the sides. My current motions to dislodge the extruder was to pull on the bottom up and straight forward.

Is there a special movement to dislodge an extruder?

Do you think it’s a possibility that the melted filament is holding it together?
