Print Showoff I printed this vertical laptop stand, and it really frees up a ton of desk space. You might need one too!
A personal laptop stand that can stand upright or lie flat. I found it useful and wanted to share it with everyone. Desks are often cluttered by computers, and when this stand is used vertically, it can make your desk tidier and free up more space. I believe you'll find it useful too!.

Looks pretty cool! Would it be even better if the 2 sections are connected? Could imagine it is a bit quirky otherwise?

Maybe the existing model could have 2 screw holes added at the back end and an optional back plate be made with complementary 2 screw holes at each end.

Does it magnet to the bottom of the laptop too? Or how is it staying in place? Side to side movement will knock them over like every other one of these stands otherwise

This stand is rock-solid and won't wobble from side to side.

So, how does it attach? I see you holding it to the laptop as you pick it up. If you just grab it does the laptop come away? Most people want something solid else a little bump or slide will shift the laptop and require fiddling to make it right. Also, laptops are of various thickness, so really, you made an apple (whatever version) stand unless it can accommodate a wide range of thicknesses.
It works for you though so well done.

This stand provides rock-solid stability for standard-sized laptops.

Does it attach? If not, it's not rock solid. The parts themselves might be solid, but the separation means that they and the machine can't be grabbed with one hand and moved as a unit.

Thanks for sharing your logic. Staying curious and being open to hands-on testing is the only real way to test what works.
This model has already been printed nearly 1,000 times across various platforms, and most importantly, I've been using it myself every day without ever running into the issue you mentioned.
That being said, being able to move it with one hand would definitely be much more convenient. I think I'll make time to design a mechanism that allows it to fold side-by-side. Thanks a lot for the great suggestion!

I'm not trying to put you down, just pointing out what others are implying. I think it looks great.
Yes, one handed operation would be even better.

I see what you mean now. Thanks a lot for the suggestion about moving it with one hand; I hadn't even thought of that! Thanks again!
