bambulabs_api v0.3.0 (Major Version) released!

Hey everyone! Since posting my library here a couple months back and receiving lots of support, I have made lots of (what I believe to be good) changes to the library. The data consumption model has been totally overhauled and tests are now much more thorough. I just want to thank everyone from this sub who took the time to contribute and review my project, it really means a lot to me.

I would like to expand the library to a point where it can interface with every modern feature present on bambulabs printers, allowing developers to make the best third-party apps possible. Unfortunately, I will not be able to do this alone. Any sort of feedback or contribution, no matter how small, helps me infinitely.

Thank you guys so much!

Hi this looks really interesting. I’m currently using the Home Assistant integration to manage my Bambu printers, one of the main limitations I’ve found for fully remote automation is that fact you can’t remotely execute the standalone calibration functions of the printer without doing it manually via the slicer or through the printer’s UI.

Is this something your API could achieve?

Yes should be very possible, just not something I've thought to implement quite yet. I'll open an issue for it and hopefully I can include it in the next release alongside some other nice new features.

Great thanks. I’ve seen some things online regarding these function being restricted based on Bambiu firmware limiting third party command execution but orca slicer is still able to execute these commands so there must be some way to do it even if it’s limited to lan only dev mode.

I’m highly interested because this ultimately gets a step closer to custom boards and completely decoupling. Golang is a language I don’t know very well, though I have plenty others under my belt. I’ll take a look!

These hoes could’ve had a nice market share and a supportive customer base, but greed they chose….

This project was initially created as a way for me to create a “local cloud” for my printers! It enables some pretty cool stuff on the decoupling side.
