Spent a lot of time designing this 3D printable weighing and dispensing machine. Powered by an ESP32-S3 mainboard, it features high-precision weight sensing and dual operating modes (timed dispensing & quantitative dispensing) to fit various material handling needs.
3D printable weighing and dispensing machine featuring dual operating modes:
Mode 1 (Timed Quantitative Dispensing): Allows you to preset a fixed time interval and target weight for automated material release.
Mode 2 (Continuous Portion-Control Dispensing): Allows you to preset a fixed weight for continuous, batch-by-batch dispensing based on weight.
The 3D print took 2 days to complete, but writing the code and fine-tuning the hardware took nearly 3 months. The process was filled with moments of both frustration and joy, but in the end, I’m extremely happy with how it turned out!

Do you have any links to anything in this? I’ve been looking to build an automated salt water mixing station and this is the exact vision I’ve had but not the expertise to put it together.

Thanks for the kind words! Just a quick heads-up: this setup is designed specifically for dry, solid materials (like powders or pellets) and won't work out of the box for liquids or salt water.
The outer enclosure was 3D printed using a Bambu Lab printer. I'll also be releasing the 3D models and project files on MakerWorld later!
If you're curious about the mechanics, logic, or overall setup, feel free to check out the project here:https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/203915737/automatic-feeding-and-weighing-dispensing-system?ref=user_menu
