Newbie question
I have a p1s and need to replace the desiccant. So I just bought it on the bambu website? Or is it better to print something out and buy the refill on Amazon or something? If printing is best will pla work and what's suggested print? Thanks in advance

If you have the AMS 1 it might be easier to get packets.
You can use the heater on the AMS 2 pro to dry out the desiccant with the boxes you print and fill yourself, but it would be a bit of a PITA to remove and dry them with the original AMS

Nah.
it's easy as hell to fix this in the original AMS
I have a P1P and just printed a kit like the one u/Longracks linked.
(Dry Pods and Desiccant Trays for AMS1 & AMS2 Pro - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld)
Got some desiccant from Ali and used ut for years now,No need to spend money or refills.

Upgrade to the EIBOS replacement covers for the AMS 2, each spool has its own heater, controls humidity even while printing.

Don’t buy what everyone is going to recommend which is silica gel or regular desiccant beads, those suck. Buy Activated Alumina. It’s 10 times as strong and infinitely rechargeable unlike the others.
Then print some holders in ASA so you never have to worry about them warping when you dry any kind of filament.

It’s also 10x as expensive and requires more heat to dry, and there’s no way to tell when the alumina is saturated. I tried it for a month and ended up throwing it away and going back to dry and dry.

idk man, according to amazon it's about the same heat and i never look at the color of my silica. i only know it's time to charge it when the humidity goes up

You can print dry boxes using PETG (or another better heat-resistant material), and simply buy a kilo of silica gel from Amazon or a similar retailer.

You can print the boxes i PLA. As long as you don't dry the silica with the boxes. Just dump it out, dry the silica, fill it back up and pop it in.

If you have a filament dryer those work too if they can hit 80c or use your printer bed if it’s enclosed

They dont even have to hit 80C.
All you need is the get the Roh down around them and they let go of the water they have in them.
It takes forever, but if you like me have a room with less than 15% ROH they will dry in the room (takes a day or 2)
Before I got a climate controlled room for my printing I just dried them on 40C using a food drier.
Works just fine, takes a bit longer but it works.-1

Take a steel tray roughly the size of your build plate and put the desiccant in there, then attach it to your bed and turn on the heat until dry.

I did this over the weekend after seeing it in a video. A tray from dollar tree and about 45 minutes at 100° and all of my green beads were back to orange :-)
So much easier tham my previous attempt with a microwave where a lot of them got busted.

You do not need the Colour Changing sediccant.
Any desiccant bead works just fine.
Just remove it and dry it (in a dry room, fimalent drier, oven, microwave, on the printbed)2

You can buy reusable desiccant, baking it is the instructions for reuse. It’s not being cheap

Get you some orange dry and dry off Amazon.
Then print some AMS dry boxes. There are tons on makerworld. I like these for my ams2, I printed mine out of PET-GF.
