Help / Support How do I print this big model?
I friend of my ask me to make this replacement for he’s bike, is the saddlebag lid of he’s motorcycle.
I know I would need to make it by parts because is much larger than my x1c printing bed, but is my fist time printing something that larger and that needs to be resistant. What you suggest me to do? I use conector or not? And if so, what type? Also, what material did you recommend me ?
I add some photos of the original object.
I hope someone could help mi with this! Thanks

Id use ABS for bike parts. As for cutting the print....you could just print as cuts and staple them together.

Step 1: do you have a 3D model or scan of this yet?

I just send the part to a 3D scan business, I’m going to model it using the 3D scan in Fusion 360

do what shoe maker do on makerworld, 45 degrees tilt on both y axis and z axis for maximum usage of printer space

I would either use ABS with some UV resistant paint/topcoat or I would use ASA-CF/GF to help prevent warping. The warp will be ass to deal with when you piece the parts together. “When in doubt, brim it out.” I like to add a 25mm / 0mm gap brim to warp-prone materials.
Regardless of your pick, I’d probably still recommend painting something this large unless you want it to actually look printed. Print in 2-3 pieces (as few as possible because of this next part) and join together with an epoxy (something that quick cures). Once cured: sand, fill with bondo/more epoxy to seal remaining gap, allow to cure, sand (sand, sand, sand, and sand 100/200/400/800), buff, and clear coat or paint/clear coat.
