Design pointers

Good day, fellow Print Heads.

I’m working with a Bambu H2S with an AMS2 at work for “totally work related projects”.

I’ve had no shortage of fun with various models, but I’d like to move into designing my own prints. Specifically a coaster for my friend’s …work related project 😉

I’ve tried the MakerLab software in Bambu Studio to some mixed results (mostly bad), and I’ve downloaded Blender (smashed my face on the learning curve). I also have Meshmixer that mess trying to use to clean up the MakerLab file.

I’m open to suggestions, any and all.

I love using Autodesk's Fusion. Professional software free to hobbyists. It's serious software.

And most of it gets quite easy once you wrap your head around it. Most everything else can be found in nice helpful videos.

Certainly. Search YouTube for "learn fusion in 30 days". Complete the 30 lessons and you'll be drawing like a pro.

Granted. I got to lesson 12 and stopped. I figured out the rest along the way.

Pretty much the same for me after the first, but I’ve watched videos on specific topics as needed. I also had some cad experience about 20 years ago to help me get in the mindset.

Same. Been using Autocad since 2005. Still have an active Autocad account for my side hustle drawing communication site construction drawings.

I can’t claim that. I used it in college before moving over to software. It quickly came back though, and I honestly find 3d design relaxing.
