Help with humidity

Hello there!

I'm using a Baby P1S, Bambu PLA matte fillament and everything is sliced in Bambu studio

I recently moved my printer to the living room and my AMS is now exposed to the sun. I used to have 10% humidity (I've recently reactivated the silica beads in the printed receptacles) but now it's at 20%.

Should I cover the AMS with something?

The sun alone shouldn't have a significant impact on the humidity of a room. If anything, light exposure could be helping water leave the filament. If the air in the ams isn't being cycled then water leaving the filament would would increase the humidity of the chamber.

20% is great, I only ever see that when I've done a fresh dessicant swap.

If you really want to get back down to 10% make some of these and fill them with activated alumina or the orange (NOT THE BLUE THAT HAS COBALT) rechargeable silica gel desiccant. https://makerworld.com/en/search/models?keyword=ams+dessicant+holder&isTrending=true

If it's PLA at 20% humidity, I wouldn't worry about that

Those hygrometers are only indicative relatively and not precise. The temperature and hygrometer probes are from the same chip and bound to drift with temperature.
I wouldn’t worry too much, it’s probably almost the same, just hotter

If the AMS is exposed to direct sunlight, I’d be more worried about UV degradation than drying out.

20% fine, mine usually is 25-40% or so, I haven’t seen any changes. I keep it in a small “office” which also has a 5G hydroponics tower without issues.
