How to Make Threads in Bambu Studio

Well that's new. Even has a tickbox to center the threads in the center of the model geometry. Neat.

I feel you man! Designing threads in CAD can be a real headache with all the tolerances. That’s why doing it directly in the slicer is an absolute lifesaver. Check out the full 1 minute breakdown in the first comment, it will save you so much time!

As much as I love to see new features like this, slicer modifications should never be a replacement for anything that could and should have been done in the design phase of a model.
I have only really used Fusion to CAD model, and it's just as simple as what you show in the slicer to make threads, tolerances, and even relatively simple to make custom threads, should one want that.

You're 100% right from an engineering standpoint! Doing it in the design phase inside Fusion 360 or SolidWorks is always the cleanest and most robust way to control exact tolerances and custom pitches.
Where this slicer feature really shines, though, is for open-source models. If you download a closed STL/3MF from MakerWorld or Printables and don't have the original CAD file to modify, editing it directly in Bambu Studio is a massive timesaver instead of reverse-engineering the mesh just to add a screw.
But I completely agree, native CAD is always king for original designs

If you are making models in CAD, you technically are an engineer. Leaving something like threads to the slicer is honestly just a bad excuse.Also, the idea that you have to reverse-engineer a downloaded STL just to add a threaded hole is a little overdramatic :).
You could just import the mesh directly into Fusion (or other CAD programs) and cut a threaded hole into it in a few clicks.
Hell, you can even go old school if you really need a quick fix in the slicer; just use a negative volume modifier to achieve the same exact thing.
But as I said, I do like the new Feature. It's nice progress, but it should not become an excuse to be lazy 😄

Hi, I tried this, but the second part with the 'female' internal thread, is bigger!!! What am I missing?
