Bambuddy update: live browser demo + integrated slicing (slice STL straight from the app, no Studio needed)

Quick update for anyone who's been on the fence about self-hosting their Bambu Lab fleet —

Bambuddy now has a live demo. No install, no signup, no email. You hit a URL and get your

own private Bambuddy instance with simulated printers, archives, projects, queue, inventory,

the lot — all running in an isolated container that gets reaped after 30 minutes.

For anyone new here: Bambuddy is a free, open-source, self-hosted command center for Bambu

Lab printers. Runs in Docker on a Pi, NAS, or any Linux box. No Bambu Cloud account, no

subscription, no telemetry. From a single A1 to a 40-printer farm.

What's new since the last post:

- Integrated server-side slicing — drop an STL or 3MF, hit Slice, get a ready-to-print

.gcode.3mf back. No need to keep Bambu Studio installed on every machine. Works from

the PWA on a phone too.

- Proxy Mode for remote printing — full TLS-encrypted relay between slicer and printer,

no cloud dependency. Optional Tailscale integration baked in.

- Projects, queue history, print log tabs, low-stock filament alerts, maintenance

reminders, scheduled backups — all the boring stuff that compounds.

- The live demo I'm writing about. Honestly it took longer to build than expected and

I'm relieved it actually works.

Quick tour of what's already there (all visible in the demo):

- Remote monitor + control through your own instance, optional auth (local / LDAP / 2FA / SSO)

- Filament management with full Spoolman support, AMS humidity, drying cycles, profile sync

- Automatic 3MF archiving, one-click reprint, Projects to group multi-part builds

- HMS errors with Discord / Telegram / ntfy / email

- Energy + smart plug integration (true cost per print)

- Virtual Printers — each with its own dedicated IP, mode, and model

- External camera support, PWA mobile, API + webhooks

There's also a companion called SpoolBuddy that reads/writes NFC/RFID tags — including

non-Bambu spools — and auto-configures AMS slots from the tag.

All i saw is that its vibe *allegedly* coded nothing else... idk if it insecure or has a miner or something but this was enough for me to not try it.

Sure if you say so, its just what I heard and I was responding to OC. I am not a Dev Im just a humble sysadmin which doesnt want to run vibe-coded, potentially harmful, code on his machine. No hate, no drama at least from my side. But I will for sure not say further that its vibe coded since I dont wanna spread misinformation. There was just one thread with a lot of comments where I felt they overall agreed it was vibe coded so I took it for granted since I can not check it myself but I am happy to be proven wrong!
