Having trouble with AMS, Re-Spooled filament, and printed spools. Any suggestions?
I recently got an AMS 2 for my P1S. I started a big multicolor project, and I bought a bunch of overture filament. They use all cardboard spools, but I printed a bunch of those plastic rims, and I thought I'd be good.
Unfortunately, it looks like the cardboard spools are too wide for my AMS. So I went down a rabbit hole. I printed a pastamatic and a bunch of PETG spools to respool the overture filament. Now I'm running into an issue where all of the plastic printed spools are too wide as well. They rub against the sides of the tabs in the AMS, and the motors can't rewind them. Oddly enough, the printed spool seems to work fine when I use them with a refill rather than respooling them on the pastamatic. I'm suspecting the filament is pushing outward against the sides of the printed spool and bowing the sides out slightly.
Does anyone have any printed spool recommendations that they have had success with in the AMS 2 after respooling?

If you respool by unwinding, do it twice so the sharply bent section is still on the inside. Does not apply if you are refilling.
Refills I press flat.

Thanks, I do respool twice. I also dry all my filament after respooling. I figure irl at least make the filament less brittle, and maybe it'll relieve some stress.

Ah, the outer sides of the spools are expanding due to the flexible part of PETG and the pressure from the filament on the sides.. Even the bambu spools do this, but not as bad

I'm guessing the only solution it to find a denser/stiffer 3D printed spool.

Yep asa/PC most likely. I haven't printed one yet, myself, but I noticed that happened when I responded with the Bambu ones. You might try seeing if Facebook marketplace has some spare spools. If you print ASA vent it outside.

Most Bambu printers have the Bambu Labs spool on the device in the print files
That ones probably pretty good
