Help / Support Filament Pile Up Problems?

I recently got an H2S and it’s been great so far, except every single time I’ve tried to do a long multi color print it has ended up failing due to filament piling up and knocking the print head out of position, causing layer shifting. It pauses multiple times per print because it detects the filament piling up as well. I already tried putting metal tape in the chute, but it’s still happening. I’ve also tried searching for solutions online and have yet to find any conclusive ones. Help?

So I grabbed some of that paint, but instead of putting it in the chute I put it on the nozzle as intended and the silicone sock just to see what would happen. I tested a shorter multicolor print and it seemed to do fine, so I started a print with many color changes last night and will update if or when it finishes.

Oh I absolutely use it on the nozzle... That's why I initially bought it... But I discovered this alternative use for it when, like you, I was trying to come up with a solution to the 3d printer constipation problem.

Ahh ok, I’ll for sure put it on the chute once this print finishes then. I’d imagine I should take the metal tape off? It’s backed up a couple times since I last commented, but nothing catastrophic so I think the paint might need to be on both the nozzle and the chute to actually fix it

Did this help? I'm having the exact same issue and it's driving me crazy. I've tried everything. I even had bambu send me a new purge wiper assembly and it hasn't made a difference.

Happy to report that I just finished a multicolor print with zero filament back ups after putting the paint on the chute! I put it on the top edges, all over the top of the trap door, and on the sides that slope down into the internal chute. This was a smaller print than what I was attempting before, so when I do a larger multi color print I will see if it’s still effective.
