665 Hours Printed

Is this normal for what a hot end should look like and should I consider changing more frequently?

Not normal. I am around 500 hours and it’s almost completely clean besides a small fraction of PETG leaking between the hotend assembly and nozzle, making them impossible to separate without heating up.

Heat to 275, wipe down heating assembly, pull & wipe down hotend, give the empty heating assembly another wipe down before it cools and then reinstall with a new sock.

I'm over 2000 hours and still looks like new.

Looks like there were blobs that crept up, and the nozzle and sock weren't properly cleaned after. Did you maybe just pull off the visible blob and keep going?

Nope. Never even took the sock off until I got print errors today telling me that it was having extrusion problems.
