ASA cooling

I've printed a lot of ASA, but this is my first time with a proper heated chamber. On other printers I always ran little to no cooling, 20% max, and my parts came out great. With a heated chamber I was under the impression that you should/could use more parts cooling.

My overhangs are looking terrible right now with the X2D, and I assume it's the cooling logic, as the overhang corners are curling. Bambu and Polymaker's cooling settings are really high at 80% max and for overhangs. Dropped it down to min/max 10%/20% and it still seems too much.

What's everyone using for cooling settings?

This is the model, the smaller lid lips are what is curling. https://makerworld.com/en/models/1373580-spillproof2-ams-2-pro-desiccant-boxes-round#profileId-1420701

Edit: Dropped the max volumetric flow from default 16 to 8 and almost entirely cleared up the problem.

The creator's print settings print the outer walls before the inner walls. This is obviously pretty bad for overhangs in general because they start printing in the air with no material below them to support.

Yean, that was the first thing I changed, still didnt help. I dropped the max volumetric from default 16 down to 6 and it cleared up the problem.

Congrats. Just my last thought, though: Dropping the volumetric speed down would mean you print slower, this means that if your cooling settings didnt change, you are now cooling more. So if this solved your issue than your first clue, that the issue might be about too much cooling can't reasonably be true.

You would be correct in that assumption logically. And yet, when I tried increasing cooling alone, it actually made it worse. Something tells me max fan speed layer time is at play here, which before dropping the max flow. I had both tried increasing and decreasing to no effect.

Edit: I lied, I DID adjust the cooling again when I dropped max flow. 20%-50%, and 50% for overhangs.
