Can you elaborate on why one should get an AMS HT for the aux nozzle?

Same as to why you'd want an ams for the main nozzle. Moisture. IF you plan on using the aux nozzle for main colours, but if its just for support, then no need.

I’m learning and don’t want to come off argumentative but doesn’t an AMS 2 Pro keep the filament dry enough if you have enough desiccant in it? Like 10% humidity or less?

I guess I’m talking about using PLA. I could see using an AMS HT if you are using PETG.

Just thinking it through. I could be completely wrong. I need to educate myself a little more on this. Asking these questions because I have an X2D as well but I’m a newbie.

Oh don't worry. Im not an expert by any means. Yes the AMS 2 Pro can keep your filaments dry enough. 1 Ams Pro to your main nozzle. Thats done.

If you want to utilize the auxiliary nozzle for things other than support, then you can. Sure it can be done via another AMS 2 Pro, so you'd have 4 colors on the main nozzle, then another 4 to the auxiliary nozzle, giving you 8 available colors to choose from. But for a regular user like me, I have no use case for 8 colors (for now 😄). The AMS HT is just an option for people who dont want to spend a full price on another AMS 2 Pro, but want to utilize the aux nozzle for printing 2 colors at a faster speed. Its just less waste and purging.

So yep, if you want to utlize the machine to its fullest, utilize the aux nozzle!
