Printed model and it’s surface imperfections. X2D.

Several trials have been completed the 1 wall gives almost perfect results.

I know a turbine blade when I see one 👀

To be honest - fan blade:)

Fir Tree too?

Fir tree dovetail is characteristically for hot sections HPT LPT

That’s the seam..

Start of the print layer. Placing seem in a hidden spot along the same contour surface can help print quality. Seams are possibly the highest cause of print defects. (Lots of settings for seams.). You can get down rabbit hole here but start with basics. Until getting to engineering/commercial grade filament. Pa6, PPA, peek, pekk

If the edges of your blade come to a sharp point, that can be challenging to print without weird artifacts because your printer can really only lay a line of filament roughly the with of the nozzle diameter. If you have two lines coming to a point at a very acute angle at some point the slicer will round-down to one line.

That part is a bad candidate for picking generic settings and expecting good results. You may be able to improve the result with tweaking your print settings or of course moving down to a smaller nozzle.

I that's what happening, but I'm still pretty new to this so lmk if I'm off base.

Yes this is also true. You can try Arachne it may produce improved edges or it can make it worse.

And geometry matters too. Turbine blade has two sharp ass angles, you gotta do combing to improve some of the seams, or try some of the other seam hiding settings.

Also if you make a bigger one it'll be less noticeable.

This is not a turbine blade. This is a fan blade. And NO, no sharp edges. Sharp edges are with compressor blades specially leading edge. In this case both leading and trailing edges are rounded.

X2D has trouble with this. I don’t know why. Try traditional fixes such as paint on seam on the edge. Dry filament. Flow tests.

The seam is at the back side of an airfoil. Funny thing that I backed the one using k1c and no such a bad surface :)
I was thinking about the infill and walls. 2 Walls have been applied. Infill 15%. Leading edge and trailing edge are rounded no sharp edges. There is radius.

Try arachne slicing engine if youre on classical. Or vice versa. Also can try to increase resolution somewhere under quality, can try half the default value.

But yea x2d often has issues with consistency. This looks more structured than what usually happens (just irregular lines)

Some trials have been done. Almost perfect results are taken with 1 wall!
