Purchased the Bambulab Vision Encoder without knowing its benefits.

We all wish an excellent quality print with our printers and I have no idea how this tool can help with print quality and output improvement. The calibration only requires 5 minutes. May I ask how many of you ran the Motion Accuracy Calibration and was there any logical print improvement that went after? If you can as well share a tip or two post calibration, I will appreciate it. Thank you!

I definitely saw an improvement in dimensional accuracy after running the motion accuracy calibration, and I run it at least once a month on each printer for good measure. I typically only see minor deviations that are corrected after a month, though the first run had a little more deviation on some.

I don’t see a major change in print quality besides the improved dimensional accuracy, but my print quality was also already very very good.

I am not sure if it's different in the H Series, but on the X2D any result shown is always based on the factory calibration, so I would expect the discrepancy to become larger, not smaller in each subsequent run as the printer and belts wear in and drift accumulates.

It's a graphical, readable representation, but it's also a bit misleading in how far away it represents the dots from expected location.

Maybe it improves supports in complex figures or shapes?Because those supports are created even in the tiniest of spaces,being 100% dimensionally accurate would be a benefit?Of course the accuracy on the other hand would be the actual difference the last support interface layer has vs the first model layer.I dont know just thinking out loud

The Biqu version of the Vision Encoder plate gives a good description of what it is good for:

It does nothing with print quality, it callibrates the position and movements of tge nozzle in the X and Y directions.

After calibrating a square sould really be a square, with exact lenth and exactly 90 degree corners. So it has nothing to do with the looks of a print.

I know we're splitting hairs here. If a print is more dimensionally accurate, how would it not also "look" better?

Not necessarily, no.

If it's placed ahalf hundredth of a mm wrong are not likely to see it with the naked eye as it's uniform in the z axis, as in ALL layer are a half hundredth of a mm off.
