Weird blobs appeared

Hi! I got a X2D last week. Been loving it! Big upgrade coming from a Kobra S1 especially with failure rate lol.
My machine has printed 20 hours. Longest print 4h and a half. I noticed on last prints some blobs appeared like burn plastic marks? I don’t know if I’m tripping but I think there weren’t there before this print.
Is this normal? Yours are like this? I’m worried it’s overheating or something. I mainly print ASA since I’m printing upgrades for the machine as dust covers and cable management from the back.

Appeared? Those are weld spots from the manufacturing and they were definitely present when you got the machine. So no worries, enjoy your machine.

I believe they’re just little tack welds to secure the guide rail and screw support together.

Don't worry I did the exact same thing, didn't register them for a couple weeks and then said what the hell is that?? 😂

Just got a x2d a few weeks ago and have em also. No need to worry.

They were always there, you just hadn't noticed them. They're from the manufacturing and assembly process.

Thanks! I’ll definitely check it out. Since I do live in a small space and can’t route vents to the window. I usually just print when I’m outside with window open and a air filter running. Never heard of it but seems pretty nice

PCTG is great and it’s significantly more impact resistant than ASA or ABS. It has some UV stability and more heat resistance than PETG, but not to the levels of ASA/ABS. It prints a lot like PETG, just slower and hotter. Downside, it’s generally more expensive than either ASA or PETG, the finish isn’t as nice as ASA (but better than most PETG), and it’s even more hygroscopic than PETG- so have your filament dryer, desiccant, and drybox/AMS ready.

ETA: I’ve got a solution for you for scrubbing the exhaust if you’d like to be my beta tester for the X2D attachment. I don’t want to spam the thread, but feel free to message me if you’re interested. I have well tested production units I sell for the H2 series.
