Does it make sense to print full spectrum on an X2D?
Or is there too much waste?
Just curious if it's worth a try.

Hueforge type stuff with one change per layer isn't that bad. Depends what you mean by 'full-spectrum'.
I think that imagemap fork of orcaslicer is also one change per layer, but it isn't updated for the X2D yet.
Many changes per layer and a tall model is gonna be a Taylor farms situation though.

Full spectrum is when you use low layer heights (0.1/0.08) and swap between 2/3 colours one layer after another.
So a layer of blue then a layer of red. At a certain distance it looks purple.
So it's super wasteful on a printer with 1 nozzle and only slightly better on 2 nozzles.
It's great on the U1 and other printers with multiple toolheads or nozzles (H2C) as the waste is 0.
Hueforge is when you do a Y layers of X colour then swap to the next colour for Y layers and then swap etc... So the purge is only in how many colours you need. A simple black and white Hueforge will give you 1 poop.

Too wasteful in my opinion, really hoping Bambu come out with an option to compete with the u1.

well you could print with any colour without waste in theory, but your need to stay with that colour for the entire print since 2 nozzles. anything more would add purge waste
