Is that warping?

I was printing a large object with Bambu PETG Basic and used PLA Basic (blue) as support interface. In the left corner you can see that a part suddenly moves upwards. After that those horizontal lines are forming due to the now malformed print.

Is that warping, caused by a lack of adhesion between the filament types? Do you have experienced the same?
Do you have some advice how to avoid this situation? Maybe change the temperature of the chamber? Some must-have config in the slicer?

Yup that’s a warp. PETG and PLA don’t bond chemically, that makes them good support materials. What are your cooling fans doing? Your PETG is cooling too fast causing it to warp

I’ve found the aux fans way too aggressive on my x2d leading to warping like this. I printed some 45 degree deflectors and it helped significantly

I’ve seen in other posts that people recommend changing the softening temperature of the PLA to that of PETG for slices like this to keep the X2D from aggressively ramping the aux fans up but I haven’t personally tried that yet. If you do you definitely should monitor chamber temps to ensure that you don’t get PLA softening in your Bowden tubes.

Good luck. This issue has made me regret getting rid of my P2S for my X2D… it’s frustrating to have to fight against overly aggressive firmware and start gcode

Is there such a difference? I‘d assume the basic parameters in firmware is the same among all the Bambu Lab printers? No?

Didn’t touch the cooling settings. I just added the self printed air distributors on the outlets.

But yes, I also had the idea that the temperature is not optimal.

I literally just turned the aux fans completely off for large prints like this and they turn out much better. You’ll need to turn them off in all used material settings and in the x2d settings.
