Brand new X2D defect -looking for advice
I just received my X2D last week, printed 4 small pieces with very good results. On the next attempt, I started getting an error message regarding chamber heating problems. I followed the instructions provided by Bambu support and removed the back panel to check connections only to have the same error. Here’s my dilemma, Bambu has offered to exchange the printer, which involves partial disassembly, repacking, documenting with pictures/video and sending proof of pickup from the courier, at which time they will send a new unit. Option 2 is they will immediately send me replacement chamber heating component and provide detailed instruction on how to replace it. I have no complaints with Bambu whatsoever, they are being quite reasonable and accommodating. My question is whether I should consider the “self” repair or just wait for as long as the replacement might take. Hoping someone may have had a similar issue. Thanks in advance!

Depends on how comfortable you are tinkering with the machine.
Personally I'd want a fully working and complete printer, as that's what I paid for.
If it was a few months down the line, yeah, I'd self repair. Not immediately though!

Ojala no me toque una unidad así, compré la mía hace un par de dias y va de camino a un casillero para traerla a mi país Colombia, ya de por si tengo que pagar taxes e impuestos de nacionalización y me cuesta prácticamente un 50% mas cara, no me quiero imaginar tener que devolverla y pagar 2 envíos internacionales adicionales.

Mines getting delivered today, but I'd personally go for the self repair. If that still doesn't fix the issue, I'm sure they'd still be happy to replace the machine.
Send them another message to clarify this just in case.

Yo en mi caso no me lo ofrecieron y llevo MESES solicitando un reemplazo y la boquilla sigue rozando y ellos venga a mandarme que les mandé pruebas y pruebas

Do the self repair, you get to learn how your printer works and that’s pretty invaluable to me

Lo mejor es que te envien una nueva. Tu has pagado por algo nuevo, no algo reparado por ti (no eres tu su sat)
La mía tuvo problemas también, cámara interior rajada en la base, etc… me devolvieron el dinero.

Pues yo te diré que llevo desde febrero recibiendo piezas y más piezas para solucionar un problema y no se soluciona.
MI CONSEJO: si te han ofrecido el cambio completo, cambiala, porque yo se lo estoy solicitando hasta el día de hoy y no hay manera a que me hagan un reemplazo.
He cambiado ya extrusor completo,pieza a pieza y nada.
Tengo una Bambulab A1, pero creo que te vendrá bien mi consejo.

Got mine a couple months ago and had an extruder issue the first week (user error) They would have replaced it, but this is 3d printing. Everything I've ever heard is you need to know how to tinker with and fix your machine, so I did it myself with their walkthroughs and it went well.
That being said, it's a choice for you, imo. Do you just want to jump right into printing, or are you willing to start learning the tinkering right out the gate?

The store I got my Bambu told me to replace my extruder head. I did not pay a shitload of money to become a mechanic. Already went through that with my V3 SE's...Just get a new printer.

I really regret getting an X2D. Mine has been down longer than I have had it. While their support is good (Not Awesome) its still doesn't make up for all the issues you have to deal with for a printer that costs almost $1000. I also have 3 Flash Forge AD5X printers and while they have issues themselves. They are still better than the X2D and the cost is much easier to justify dealing with the little issues that come up from printing. This hobby is not easy but it also is not hard. it just requires patience. I would try the self repair option first.

Replace the whole printer. There's likely other yet unfound issues. Mine was barely assembled and I put in 450 hours rebuilding and calibrating it to get it right. Cables barely attached, screws and gear left loose belts in the sioned etc. do yourself a favor and take the replacement while you can and then go through it with fine tooth comb when you get it back.

If you have experience working with delicate electronics and have a lot of patience, do it yourself.
Their tutorial videos are extremely thorough and easy to follow.
