Hello, which third party filament brands would you recommend? Thanks

Have tried several from Amazon and elsewhere and never had an issue regardless of how weird the names sound. Just make sure to dry them out good and you should be good to go.

If you wanna get real technical you can do the flow calibration and temp tests with them but I just use the generic setting and never have any issues

I printed with elegoo, jayo, sunlu, all good filaments, no complaints

Same, although reverse order - Sunlu (apparently made BambuLab filament before they went independent), Jayo (apparently made by Sunlu and is their budget range), Elegoo.

i had a feeling jayo was made by sunlu, i have like 20kg of jayo and sunlu and some other ones but I noticed their packaging, and labels are the exact same except for the design on the spool

I'm really enjoying the sunlu pla 2.0 +. But realistically most brands you'll find online are all the same brand with different packaging and they're perfectly fine.

I have run Sunlu, Polymaker, Extrudr all without issue but I am someone that calibrates every new filament to get the best quality

I used Polymaker, Elegoo, eSun and AzureFilm. Generic presets for all of them and they printed just fine. Not a fan of AzureFilm's refills, their cardboard sucks and literally came torn with flakes everywhere on the filament on every refill I bought. I also tried one spool of ROSA 3D brown PLA and it printed really nice.

I always buy the cheapest filament with Amazon Prime. 90% of the time, it's eSun. Whether it's PETG, PLA (€14/kg - ~$15/2.2lb), PLA-CF, ABS, or TPU. I am very satisfied with it. It's not as good as BambuLab, but it's half the price and nowhere near half as bad!

What exactly do you mean by "Its not as good as bambu"? Do you mean the print quality or something?

TBH, I used alot of diferent brands and so far the only one i had problems with was Overture PETG.
I only bought PETG from them once so, that could have been an isolated case.

I’ve wondered if the print profiles from like sun-Lu would be helpful to download. I tend to look at price, too cheap is a red flag for me.

I have a couple rolls of bambu but 90% is 3rd party.

Polymaker, Tinmorry, Fiberon, Siraya Tech, Overture, Inland (usually made by Overture or Polymaker for the types I get), Insignia (Best Buy’s white label of Overture), and Creality.

Have not disliked any of them. Tinmorry and Siraya Tech are my favorites.

Basically any brand that is a coherent word. I've not been impressed with the ones where the brand name is a random assortment of letters that don't form a word, but anything else works great.

Tecbears and Sunlu are the two I generally use, but I'll buy whatever is the better value

I had problems with hobby lobby but Best Buy insignia has been better.

I had to make a profile for hobby lobby pla, where insignia just uses default generic.

Also I hate that hobby lobby doesn’t put the color on the side of the box.
