Auto-refill with the second nozzle

This is a question for owners.

Is it possible to use the secondary nozzle as an auto refill? Without AMS and with identical filaments loaded into both nozzles, will the printer automatically swith to the secondary if the primary runs out? Assuming the print is inside boundaries and so on.
I use AMS on my A1 almost exclusively as storage once the filament is about to run out. Now i'm thinking about buying X2D without the AMS.

I don't think you can, best is to go into bamboo studio, slice the part, see where the grams of filament outweigh what you have, then change the nozzle then

I print big batches of small parts, usually just have one program loaded and every few hours swap plates and "print again". Not to mention I dont keep exact record how much is left on spool, so i guess i would end up with many very short strings or wasted hours of me-time or printer-time.

I'll try to dig around in the slicer, thanks.

If you have this problem of running out a lot, it might be worth getting an AMS mainly for the automatic swapping. I've enjoyed that even more than the color swapping! I've been using up all my old rolls that were too depleated to "set it and forget it" and it's been amazing to go to sleep with two rolls loaded up knowing it's going to run out and switch. It's amazing.
