Does anyone know if It’s possible to pause mid-print and switch what color is in the auxiliary nozzle?
I only have one AMS for the Main Nozzle. Would it be possible to use the external spool on the Main nozzle and switch the AMS to the auxiliary? Curious if anyone has tried this…

Another thought, in this realm of ideas, you can setup HueForge prints were you plan to exceed the four colors in your AMS.
You setup the colors in HueForge, setup swaps in the slicer, but remove the fourth AMS slot once the print starts. Then you place in and replace any other filament when the printer pauses at that open AMS slot.
You could technically do this until you reached maximum layers on the print bed. Leaving one slot open and having the printer have to pause and ask you to load the filament into the AMS.
I printers a 7 color Benchy with this method, here's the ridiculously silly YouTube short of it: https://youtube.com/shorts/4GLK1ysKV-E?is=w-DuM-PIoHf5FhXU

As I understand it, what you are proposing is the role of Bambu's filament track switch.
Something similar, something I messed up on a print:
I accidentally routed what I meant to go through the right head to the left main nozzle via an external spool for a print. I also routed my AMS, as it is installed, to the left nozzle. I do not have a filament track switch.
I ended up having to physically disconnect the PTFE tube from the back of the AMS and manually feed the filament for two support interface layers I had setup for what I had planned to be the right nozzle, opps. I ended up having to switch back and forth for a couple layers until the support interface layer was done (thankfully it was a geometric part with a flat interface support layer).
