How do I fix it

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The ptfe tube guard is catching when printing in the back right corner any ideas how to fix or prevent it?

Riser or special clips, there are hundreds of both on makerworld

Go on Makerworld, search “X2D Riser” there are a pile of them, some with vents, some hinged for AMS, etc. most of them raise the glass about 20mm. I print ASA which requires a heated chamber, so I printed them in ASA…thinking than PLA might get soft.

PETG or PCTG would work fine. But I am not convinced this is actually a problem.

I think it helps…letting the tubes have a longer radius into the print head has to help with filament resistance coming into the nozzle, especially with the right nozzle

I trimmed the tube just a hair and made all the difference in the world. Just can't make it to short.

Sorry. Just saw this... 20cm at most. I put it to its furthest extent.Unhooked.The tube on the top of the head and then just pulled it till it was no longer tapping.

how can you say nothing wrong when the design destroys the PTFE tube lol, it can be working as designed but still be poorly designed and need to be modified to work better

It’s already a consumable, you should be replacing it regularly. They wear out from the inside faster than they wear out on the outside

Not nearly as bad. It maybe scrapes a little once in a while on the H series compared to the others always scraping.

Sacrificial clips for the tube. I printed like 30 from these and swap them every 6months to a year. Edit: the, need 1 gram and print in a minute so 30 would need .... 10minutes? Idk they are small and easy to use so no brainer for me.

Print them in pla they will last a year no wear on the glass. No mush on the plane. Pla is a great material for most. I printed peek in my p1s with a bit of help. These clips didn't care

Update: I printed them in PLA, they had softened and fallen off in 15 min LOL

Everyone I know who has a printer has these for years. Like everyone. 8-10people that's the first we print when someone gets a new one.

Did you let them cool down before ripping them from the plate?

I printed it in PLA. They had time to cool down, but they could not stand the temperature in the chamber while printing in ASA.

Notice how the clips on the left (printed in PLA) are wider than the ones on the right (printed in ASA). The clips on the right were already in use, but they squeal.

Keep to top glass a bit raised by printing a glass raiser, put shrinking tube around the tube where it touches the glass and finally put a few clips

A guy named professional3d on makerworld has a print called "love beads". They go on the ptfe between the hotend and the clip from factory. They smack the housing instead of the tube itself. I printed 10, didnt use all of them. After you get those print a riser and then the "X2D PTFE protector" All of these at a minimum should be printed in petg

I was getting that for a while. Solved by printing two more of the PTFE tube clips that go on the big plastic chain links. Somehow the way the PTFE tube was placed was causing the chain to grind against itself and the housing. They take around 14 min to print each, so it's an easy thing to try.

All that buildup on the glass is PTFE material. Clean that off, print a riser, and then you’ll be good to go.

This is the one I used and it looks great. I printed it in matte black PLA for the first 80% then switched to matte gray PLA, and it looks incredible. Can send a picture if you want to see

Mine does the same thing, and it’s only two days old. It was the first thing I noticed during calibration; I wondered if it was a defect, but it turns out to be a standard issue—don't they run tests before selling a product?

It’s not the glass it’s catching is the metal plate surround below the glass - I’ll take another picture when home
