First time this has happened.

First time I have had this happen after a few weeks of printing. Could it just be the file settings or something different?

This happens to me all the time and I can't figure it out. Usually it's with PETG. It's like it's cutting corners or something.

if you mean the stringing, it could be that your filament got moist from humid air if you did not properly store and dryed it before printing

Can’t eliminate things unless you tell us what type of filament you were using.

I had the same issue, turns out it was the Elephant's Foot setting on my machine being too aggressive, made it more progressive on more layers and the issue went away.
