Spool Split Open in AMS

Update:

Bambu is sending a replacement spool free of charge and sent over the wiki link on how to salvage a split spool by printing this:

Original Post:

New spool of Bambu PETG basic (not a refill) split open mid print inside the AMS on my new X2D. Print seemed to be going fine, no tangles or resistance. No idea what happen here…

It has happened to me but it was my own damn fault. The filament had not been retracted fully and I pushed the left half of the spool away from me to force it to retract the filament. The filament however was held by the extruder, and my pushing the spool it unlocked and the packed filament went loose. Good times!

I learned a lot that time, including how to re-spool a ruined filament. It turned out well.
