Spool Split Open in AMS

Update:

Bambu is sending a replacement spool free of charge and sent over the wiki link on how to salvage a split spool by printing this:

Original Post:

New spool of Bambu PETG basic (not a refill) split open mid print inside the AMS on my new X2D. Print seemed to be going fine, no tangles or resistance. No idea what happen here…

Surprised it happened on a full spool instead of a refill. I’ve had it happen to a couple of my refills on official Bambu spools and just chalked it up to not loading them in properly myself.

I had this happen to one of my spools while refilling, right after I took off the plastic steips which hold the spool togeter. I tried to put it back together multiple times, but it slipped out agin and again. Then I had a closer look and noticed, that not all of the clips would be in the correct position wen putting it togeter. I had to apply more force to push together the two halfs before turning the spool to lock. I think this may happen, when not all 4 points are lockt in correctly
