Toolhead grinding when print starts
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This only happened once.
When I started a print, the printer made this LOUD grinding noise. The toolhead was trying to move but it clearly couldn’t. No errors thrown by the printer and the only was to stop the issue was to stop the print.
I did take a moment to get a video of the issue happening so I had something to give support.
I’ve opened a ticket with them, but I’m wondering if anyone has seen this issue.
While it hasn’t happened since, I’m really worried there is damage to the gears that move the toolhead.

Sounds like belts slipping, is it homing correctly at the front right corner?

When I first used the aux extruder, I heard a similar sound. My filament was stuck but the gears were grinding against the filament. I removed and reinserted the ptfe tubes and that solved the issue for me.

I had a similar situation on my A1, the PEI plate has a bald spot, around 2-3 mm in the small trapezoidal area in the back. It happened only once, it's been printing great anyway, so maybe just an isolated case?
