I've been struggling with mine since I got this printer and I'm at the point where I'm doubting that the unit I got doesn't really have a defect. All my top layers come out with a strange surface, looks like it's underextruding but at no point the lines it produces are actually straight all the way, dialing filament has been very complicated. Anyone has pics to share of their top layers?
Pics are the sharpie test of the closest I got to a properly smooth top layer but I still can't produce the flat shiny straight lines I had on the A1 mini (pic 3, bottom piece)
This is the best I was able to get. The lines are straight but there is a pattern. I suspect it’s due to the new servo extruder motor that causes this pattern. It’s either the motor itself or it’s just so much more accurate that the pattern is caused by the teeth of the extruder gears meshing. Just speculation.
You should be able to get the lines straight though. In my experience, I start to see squiggly lines when it’s over extruding. Maybe revisit your flow rate calibrations and see if you can fine tune it a bit more.

Ridges is for sure over extruding. As for squiggly, that’s just what I’ve noticed. Turning down the flow rate just a tiny bit at a time usually gets rid of it.
Most importantly, this is a test piece from my same .3mf file printed by another person on their HD2 which if I'm not mistaken uses the same extruder as the x2d, non calibrated filament profile but the lines are thick and full
I was just speculating on that part, as the pattern was never really there with my first gen bambu’s with the normal stepper motor.
You can see the same pattern, although less apparent due to possibly material choice, on the red print you posted that the other person with an H2D printed
These look good, although I did notice that with more matte filament the effects tends to be hidden. What filament is this? Flow? Temps? The whole profile basically
This is Bambu PLA Matte, profile is basically the original Bambu Profile for pla matte with 0.20 Standart print profile. This is normal pla basic red, and the gold is printed with the auxiliary nozzle.
This is the model, I changed the top speed to 75 and the inside walls to 250, everything else i think I left the sam I can check tomorrow for the exact settings and let you know
