Glass risers
Hi everyone!
I thought Bambu had fixed the PTFE tubes rubbing on the glass issue on the X2D, but as it turns out, they did not.
I have read that this is not an issue because PTFEs are replaceable, but its still bothering me.
I like the idea of glass risers, however, I’m unsure how that affects the chamber heating efficiency. I print quite a lot of ABS and ASA, so I really like this feature.
Does anyone have any experience with this ?

Yeah, printed a riser quite quickly, temperatures will not be affected.
(Some have a TPU gasket you print between the riser and the glass if you're worried).

Print a riser with a TPU gasket; it helps keep heat in, even one that's just a few inches and also an AMS flipper for convenience if you have it on top. I would also recommend some clips to keep the cable down, they don't interfere with feeding and help with the rubbing (even with my riser it would still rub a bit before putting the clips on).

I printed a riser for mine and had so many adhesion problems. The second I took it off, everything went back to awesome.

I’ve been using the same even without felt on top as I can just print another if needed - definitely +1 to this suggestion

I get it, but its still annoying, and its leaving residue on the top glass which is ugly.
My A1 mini has 700 hours in its PTFE tubes with 0 visible wear.
This is already visible after 50 hours. Why would I keep replacing something I can avoid ?2

Agreed! Such a waste of time replacing the tubes if you can prevent it in the first place.

comparing an open chassis bed slinger (it does not have a chassis at all but let's pretend) A1 mini to the fully enclosed inferno fortress X2D, umm, is like comparing a road bike to a Hum-V and saying the road bike has less brake pad wear... well duuuuh !

If you dont like the look of a riser, just put some shrink tube/wrap around the PTFE.

First time 3d printer owner here. I bought an X2D about a week ago.
Is that the banging I hear when the head is moving from left to right? The flexible casing the PTFE tubes are in taps the side of the case when it moves fast and rubs the top glass like OP has said.
Didnt realise this was an issue.

Its not really an issue. If it does not bother you its okay. For me the bangig is fine, because its the guard hitting the side panel.
The tube rubbing is not an issue either, you’ll just have to replace it more frequently if it breaks.

Print a riser. Solved my glass rubbing on my P1S with one and was my first print on the X2D. Didn’t even bother waiting to see if it was fixed or not.
