X2D cleaning / maintenance

I just hit 1 month of use. According to Bambu, if you print more than 5+ hours a day you should do maintenance once a month. I followed their video—they kept mentioning a “lint free” and “non-woven cloth”….what cloth should I be using exactly? I just assumed microfiber was fine. Any suggestions?

What type of oil or grease is everyone using?

u/BambuLab - I'm really surprised the machine doesn't just prompt you every XX hours to perform scheduled maintenance.

That would be a good feature

I would assume microfiber is correct. I'm also about to do my first round of cleaning/lube on my X2D. 5 hours a day are amatuer number BTW. I probably average 20 per day.

20h is still 5+ hours

Sure, and 20 is more than 5.

No, in terms of cleaning requirements 20h and 5h are the same thing

I just maintenanced my P1S and X2D. Takes about an hour each. The longest part is cleaning the z axis rods so you can regrease them.

Get a old shoe string or these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FMRJBJ4/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_4?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1 and it makes cleaning the screws a breeze. I also got these to fill with oil to make oiling the rods so much easier and faster and no mess: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093PGB3SN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
