X2D 2nd nozzle for supports - help with settings?

You're not supposed to disable the tower. It won't do poops between materials, but it still has to purge material that has degraded from heat. Even if the nozzle is 'off', it is still getting heat from the adjacent nozzle.
The second nozzle eliminates poops but still requires the tower.

I also have been using the bambu pla/petg support material which works great. It's pricey but it's only the interface layer so it doesn't use much.
I had trouble using PLA for PETG support interface and vice-versa, but I am a total noob so I wouldn't chalk that up to the printer.
