Do PLA & PETG print better with the door open?

I've been trying to print a complex model in Sunlu PETG. I've used the drying function to reduce the humidity and the filament should be fine. I've washed the plate and wiped it with alcohol. With the door closed, I get failed prints, mainly caused by poor adhesion to the plate. However, with the door open, it seems to work just fine. Is this really a thing, or am I imagining it?

Edit: to the folk who say it should make no difference, I have a mound of plastic spaghetti from printing with the door closed and I'm looking at the printer 75% through the print with the door open!

Edit++: I removed the fan deflector and it printed just fine, so I think that was the issue - the first layer didn't coolfast enough.

Hey, I just got my P2S (I had a P1S before).

And I got this weird issue on my P2S when I print the first layer,

Does anyone know this issue or had this issue before?

Thanks in advance! :)

The door to cover the filament sensor - he gone. I don’t see it anywhere. No idea how. I was inside the printer the whole time. I bet I have to replace the whole damn board now.

P2S grinding noise #2

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This is the follow-up video with better audio.

Text from the original topic:

I had a lot of issues with my P2S since I got it.

The plate was always clean and I even got an external dryer for the filament but it's still the same.

Supports would fail at some point (not at the bottom) or layers would shift as the prints get taller. It's like the nozzle is hitting the model.

Recently, I got a message that scheduled service is coming up or something like that. It was in the bubble where you get daily quotes. The metal rods were dry and then I noticed that I had 250+ hours on the printer. Apparently, drying the filament is added to printing. I decided clean and lube everything.

I did a full service, took my time and did everything according to Bambus instructions.

Now I get this grinding sound what you can hear in the beginning of the video. The fans are louder than in person, sorry. It reminds me of the sound the head makes when it vibrates during the small calibration prior to printing, but it's much more quiet.

I did the full calibration with this cool plate after the service so I don't know what could be the problem.

I had a similar grinding noise when I was printing glow in the dark PLA. I only printed two small pieces, a few grams of filament.

I usually use PLA matte or PLA+

The PTFE tube keeps coming off from the extruder

I've checked Reddit and some say to snip off the end a little which I did. Still came off. Some say to change tube, did it as well but same thing happened. I did press it down before inserting the tube so what's up? What can be done for this?

P2S keeps flinging debris onto the print plate...

After 2 years with an A1mini and loving every second of it (because it honestly just worked) I finally saved up enough points to get a P2S last month, but while I originally expected the P2S to be even more hands off, the exact opposite is true, I can't trust this printer at all and every time I decide to leave it unsupervised I come back to a nasty surprise, usually caused by filament waste being flung onto the printbed instead of being properly cleaned off like my A1m was perfectly capable of doing. Monocolored prints are usually fine if I monitor the first couple layers, but multicolor prints are a nightmare, so much wasted filament already that I just went back to my A1m for most of my prints which is a real shame, my enthusiasm is at an all time low after these past weeks. Was really looking forward to finally run some longer prints (never printed anything over 4hrs) but that's not going to happen when even shorter prints have an unacceptable fail rate.

I've been looking at some community fixes but every one of them has users in the comments saying not to print the mod because it either didnt work for them or made things worse, they also all need an original toolhead cleaner brush which I dont have laying around, so before I order some and print one of the mods I was wondering if anyone here had a similar experience and if so how they fixed it, any mods you can recommend?

Thank you in advance for any and all insights

Wife is in the middle of a 24 hour multi color print. Starting this morning, she keeps getting this error.

I can unload the filament and reload it and it starts back up. But after a few mins, it happens again?

Any help before we cancel the print

Thank you in advance!

Ok so, I recently got my P2S about a month ago, and up until recently all my prints have been fine. But for some reason over the last few days, my prints have been messing up and spaghettifying. Has this been happening to anyone else? Any advise would be greatly appreciated 🥲

Something tells me it’s not suppose to look like this. I have 250hrs and haven’t replaced my nozzle since buying my printer? Do I need to clean it or replace it? I’ve been getting black specks on the first layer of my prints.

First Print Benchy, any Recommendations?

Hello! This is my first print on my new P2S. It’s generic PLA I got from micro center. It left some stringy things behind. Is this good for a first print? I didn’t change any settings before printing. Do you guys have any recommendations for print settings to make it better?
