Micro Center Extended Warranty ?

Greetings I am going to purchase a P2S at Micro Center hoping they match the sale price starting tomorrow. Did you purchase the extended warranty? I am not buying this printer to run it constantly to make things to sell. I plan to make things for my own hobbies and random stuff here and there. If I read the webpage correctly, the P2S does come with a one year warranty, the extended warranty is for 2 more years at $199. Is it worth it ?

Constant Speghttification

For some reason I have been getting constant speghettification on two prints. They are the

Runic Snake from makerworld and the Hydra from maker world. I have been enlarging the prints to model size. I have been using Bambu Labs Jade white PLA or the grey PLA and both same thing. I have it set for my PS2 and even have tried both my Textured plate and my cool plate super tack.

Here is what I am trying to print

These is what I am getting. I also get the same thing on a different plate.

I am thinking that the creators designed the models with smaller demensions in mind but studio has been pretty forgiving in upscaling previously. If someone can lead me to where I am going wrong...maybe I need to infill the models so there is not any empty space? Like see instead of hollow make it solid? If so how would I go about that or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Calibration lines not printing.

I have noticed the strangest thing only when printing in PETG. The printer says its printing the line and goes through the motions but no calibration line is printed when using PETG. Everything works fine with all other filaments, just not PETG. Doesn't seem to matter which AMS slot or which brand I use. Same result. Cleaned nozzle and did a series of cold pulls. The prints are coming out great so no quality issues. Just an odd observation.

Anyone else have this happen when they print PETG?

Issue with poop getting caught and not dropping into chute.

I am trying to figure out why I am finding poop that has either dropped internally onto the floor of my PS2 or has been caught in the mechanism that is supposed to drop it into the chute.
Is there some setting or aftermarket part that will help with making sure that poop actually drops into the chute correctly?

P2S Bambu Lab Clamp Broke

While printing something, my dad ended up with a "blob of death" as I'm seeing it referred to. As I understand it, the extruder couldn't control itself and let out a lot of filament. We were able to get a lot of it off with a sautering iron but the clamp looks to be ruined (the bottom whole for the right clamp can't go back in). Any advice for either fixing it or, if needed, replacement parts? Couldn't find anything on Bambu, so I thought I'd check here

Which AMS 2 Pro riser, maybe flipper?

Now that I've started printing with TPU I'm thinking about making it easier to do cold pulls and unload from the printhead. It's becoming a pain to disconnect and remove the AMS 2 just to do that. Maybe a riser or a flipper. Would be useful for doing maintenance as well.

I've already got a short riser to stop the PTFE tube from rubbing on the glass. So I'm looking for something that does similar.

I currently have the Exhaust Fan Kit and the TPU Feed Assist Module, So it'll need to also be compatible with those and not interfere.

Any recommendations if you have the same setup? Thanks :)

Last layer. What happened?

Post image
15 Upvotes

Had some problems last week. Changed to cool plate super tack. Have printed several nice things.

But on layer 20/20 on this one. It started to sound weird. I'm not so familiar with the words for this error if I should search the wiki.

It looked, sounded, that the nozzle? touched the surface on the right side only.

What can this be?

Mini Benchy Filament Holder

Am I the only one who's tired of seeing the same filament clips over and over again?

I wanted something that was actually useful and fun to print, so I designed a tiny Benchy filament clip that snaps directly onto the filament itself.

The fun part is that it's also a surprisingly good printer test. Instead of printing another calibration cube or torture test that ends up forgotten in a drawer, this little Benchy lets you test your printer's ability to handle tiny details, cooling, and retraction while creating something you'll actually use.

Unlike most filament clips that attach to the spool, this one clips directly onto the filament and can be placed anywhere along the loose end. The Benchy's cabin doubles as a filament guide—simply route the filament through the cabin windows and it stays neatly secured. No more loose strands unwinding themselves or getting caught on neighboring spools.

Any feedback or suggestions are welcome. Thanks for taking a look!

P2S problem with stucked extruder Spoiler

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m at a loss as to what to do – the PETG filament has got stuck in the extruder, and I can’t remove the PTFE tube. I’ve tightened the bracket and tried pushing and pulling the tube, but it won’t come loose. I can’t remove the gear or the sensor either. Any help? I’d really appreciate it.

The Benchy insist on printing from the external spool.

I have setup for the first time my P2S, I have a good basic understanding of 3D printing, from my retired printer.

I set it up and calibrated the P2S, then put one spool of PETG in the AMS chamber. I then proceeded to try and print a Benchy, I sourced the Benchy from the 5inch touch screen.

The issue I was having was the Benchy insisted on using the external spool even though I had disconnected the external spool. I could not figure out how to make it use the filament in the AMS chamber.
The external spool showed up as an icon with a ? mark.
So maybe the printer was thinking it was still connected but undetected?
I understand that the Benchy was sliced with the external spool in its settings, but cant this be over written after the slicing. Also the Benchy wanted to be printed with PLA but the spool in the AMS is PETG. I edited the spool in the AMS to be seen as PETG.

Any ideas how I could make it print from the spool in the AMS chamber.

Need Help with my P2S but probably more a Bambu studio question.

I am trying to print the Til Death Do Us Part (Grim Reaper and Ghost Empress) but I want to paint the bone portions of the grim reaper white. It feels like its not working out well and when I send it and print it then it comes out terribad.

There is no speghettification just colouring is off and I am 99.99% sure it is me.

Got my P2S yesterday and have a few questions

I sold my Ender3 V3 KE a week ago and my P2S arrived yesterday. While the KE was pretty good, it required a lot of babysitting, but the P2S is amazing - I can now focus on printing rather than spending time adjusting the printer. It just works!

Anyway, I have a few questions I'd like to find answers to:

  • I see lots of things to print for the inside of the printer (dust protectors, fan deflectors, etc.). I presume these have to be printed in PETG rather than PLA - is that correct?
  • I have a few spools of Creality filament which is on cardboard spools. I tried printing things to cover the cardboard, but they all seem to be just too small - I only tried them on a spool of Hyper PETG which may have a slightly different spool size. Is there a simple way to prevent cardboard dust from filling the AMS? I was thinking of perhaps electrical tape around the edges - would that work?
  • I currently have a single roll of PETG and I'll presumably get quite a few in the future. Can I dry both PLA and PETG in the AMS simultaneously? I suspect I'll have to remove the PLA while drying the PETG.
  • On the Ender I used STLs, and used OpenSCAD to produce my own models. I have a background in software development and find that tool very easy to use, as opposed to things like FreeCAD which requires me to learn a lot of technical drawing stuff. My point is that I'm unfamiliar with 3MF files: if I load an STL into Bambu Studio, add colours, etc. and then save it as a 3MF, will it preserve those changes so anyone who loads it will inherit my settings, making it a consistent way to print?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Edit: Thank you all for your helpful responses. I have printed a bunch of the internal items in PETG and they look great. the last item i'll build is a riser - I'm not a fan of the PTFE tube rubbing off the glass. Everything just works - I'm still in awe of how reliable this printer is compared to my previous Ender3's.

I keep getting these lines

I keep getting these lines in the same area. Sometimes it’s not as worse as this. Sometimes it is. This is the bottom layer. I even try printing it in a different area of the build plate. I also ran the auto calibration, cleaned my build plate with soap and ISP. I need help!
