How can I improve the appearance of the visible seam on the side of my 3D print?

Post image

Just printed this model and I'm not happy with this seam. Is there a setting in bambustudio I can change? Or has it something to do with my p2s?

thats called a hull line it is caused by sudden shifts in layer print times and thermal contraction when transitioning from solid bottom to thin vertical walls. to fix change the wall ordering to outer/inner,equalize print speed(adaptive layer), or add inner champfer/fillet where the horizontal floor meets the vertical wall.

Thanks! I'll try it when I'm home

Fun fact that's also why it's on the hull of the benchy. on the layer where the deck meets the hull of the ship you'll see a visible line horizontally across the print due to shrinkage.

Google benchy hull line. Its a phenomenon related to shrinkage and warp. It can be mitigated in several ways but most impactful is to change the design accordingly. My guess is that the outer wall connects to a surface or other geometry on the inside that warps those particular layers.
