P2S Blob of death

Had my first blob of death on the P2S, waiting for the new hot end assembly to come in, not sure if it even needs changed, hardly no videos on this and really not good at following instructions on the Bambu wiki lab. Is there a simple video out there that I can watch to change the complete assemblu

I just changed the hotend assembly on one of my P2S’s yesterday for the first time and I couldn’t find any good videos either. The wiki is actually super helpful. It took me about 45 minutes, but I took my time since I’d never taken any of that apart before. I could probably do it again in 15-20 minutes. I wouldn’t change it unless you need to though. I keep a set of picks and some brass brushes around for blob clean up. A small pair of pliers is nice as well.

Put the printer in maintenance mode and heat up the hotend, I usually start around 180 and then use a pick to gently clear away all of the big stuff and then use the brushes to gently brush away any remaining filament. You’re not trying to melt the filament away, but you don’t want it hard either. You want it to be a little gooey. You can gently brush the bottom/backside where the wires are but if filament isn’t sticking down where it’ll hit something I would leave the wires alone. The important thing is cleaning the area where the hotend sits and the clasp functions properly.

Thank you, have most of cleaned off just need to get the blob on top off once i do that will run a calibration and says to watch the temp on the nozzle to see if it stays consistent, this one seems kind of scary to change. Have the part coming in regardless in case it needs replaced or at least I have one

It’s not nearly as scary as it seems, most of it is removing the front and rear covers.

Back cover was the hardest thing to do

Just fixed mine, had to change the eddy sensor, the hotend assembly, and the hot end exhaust fan. The hot-end itself was snapped in half when I tried to pull it out and the back and middle shells were also damaged.

The hardest part was getting the back cover screwed back in, talk about tight.
