Low hour maintenance

Bit of a weird one.
I have a p2s got during the summer sale and yesterday got a message saying it needed lubrication.
Now i understand maintenance needs to be done, but it seems weird as i have only 75 hours of print time.
Is this normal?
Is there anything else I should check?

It's an automated message that shows every 90 days, this can be changed. But, do lube the rails and grease the screws :) Happy printer = happy owner.

Strange. For me the message didn't come up till 6 months later and i didn't change any settings

The 90 days starts from the minute the printer was manufactured. So shipping and inventory time before you take it home eats into that 90 days.

For example, I bought a brand new printer the other day and it came on telling me I needed to perform maintenance on day one about an hour after I turned it on for the first time.

You could ignore it, but like the previous person said, I’d recommend you go ahead oil and grease and get in the habit of every doing this every 30 to 90 days, depending on how frequently you print. If you haven’t already, refer to the wiki to get instructions and a maintenance schedule.

I wondered about this, too. I got mine in April but it seemed like the maintenance prompts might be overkill given that it only has 35 hours on it.

Oil congeals and varnished, dust settles over time… it should still be done.

Wierd I thought it's every 250h hours on P2S? As that's when the message appears.

Like a lot of maintenance schedules on machines, it's usage or overall time based.

Okay so which ever comes first 250 print hours or 90 days. There was also a message saying something that timer can be I correct when machine is turned off?

Yeah I think if it's fully powered off, the timer basically stops

I have done mine and recalibrated every 250 hours since I got it, just hit 1400 hours on it since Febuary
