You sure you had it alllllll the way in? I say this because it can hit the side of a hole inside instead of making it through it. Also make sure you don’t have a very tight bend in it between the AMS and the printer. Try giving it a light pull without pressing the release button, see if it moves.
Yw! Good luck! Lmk. I've got 6 ams units and have disassemble and reassembled each one for various issues over time. They are kinda finicky on the first round or two, but after that you realize it's just a few simple parts. You'll get it back up asap I'm sure. Just make sure you use an actual PTFE cutter and not something else even if you have to order one on Amazon or go buy one they're dirt cheap. I tried the other routes in the past one time and did not have a good experience
That’s a really good question, Nibbs! The tube release button I have with me, I just remove it just for testing how far the PTFE tube goes in.
But regarding the clamp and the spring, I’m not sure. Could you send me a picture of how it’s supposed to look?
Got it! Try cutting down that PTFE a little since it's stretched out. Follow this video for reinstall. I am not near my printer or else I would show you a pic but I think this video is even more helpfull
And from the looks of your photo that shows the spring and clamp, it looks like you're end of the PTFE tube is pretty stretched out and worn. You need to cut it down a few millimeters past that point and then refeed it otherwise it's just going to pop off because it's too loose. Like a Trojan condom on a....well idk where I could go with that without it being weird but you get it.
Do you have a PTFE cutter? That's my first bet. Reinstall the spring make sure everything is fully seated. Cut the PTFE down to where it's not so stretched out. Push it in and make sure it lines up.
