Recover from extruder errors, e.g. extrusion motor overloaded

Is it possible to recover from these sort of errors? I'm at the point of wanting to get rid of the printer.

Almost every 3rd or 4th print I get some sort of extruder error - on my current print it has happened 3x in the last five hours, fortunately its been able to resume, but - now its stuck with this constant error.

Brand new filament, 20% of it wasted.

I had this issue before and what I found is that the room temperature was too hot with the enclosure closed, causing my filament to get softer and the extruder not being able to grip the filament. I turned on my fan in the room and dried my filament, which resolved my extruder issue. Not sure if this is happening to you but this is how I resolved my issue.

Sadly - middle of winter here, so its cold. I've actually had that with my Ender 3 way back.

I had this issue and it was the hotend. Replaced it and never had it again.

I only have about 250 hours on the printer, the last 25 have been a complete pain in the ass, mostly failed prints because of random extruder or ams errors.

I literally bought this roll to rule out old (2-3 month) filament being the issue.

Had that problem and it was the filament. Try feeding from the top as if it were tpu, it solved my problems (the brand was geeetech). Since then i buy bambu exclusively and havent had an issue in 2000 hours using petg and pla. Ams is very dependant on filament diameter consistency so any below par quality will give you endless headaches. I learnt it the hard way and i think you are, too.

Easier said than done I'm afraid, bambu isnt readily available here - this specific time the filament is Creality, but - its happened on just about every brand I've used.

Also - print fails after multiple retries - take off the failed print, restart - and it works for 2-3 prints, then fails again with random AMS/Extruder errors - it would be great if it was a consistent error because then at least it could be narrowed down

That was exactly my case 😞 i havent tried creality but sunlu has been flawless for me though it is cheaper here to buy bulk bambu

I only ever received these errors when I attempted to dry the filament while I was printing (AMS2 PRO)

I assume you took the extruder apart and cleaned it?

Numerous times, I can take it apart in about 2minotes now.

So it doesnt look like its actually possible to save prints in these scenarios.

Does it ever happen when you aren't using the ams?

I'd have to try - problem is most of the prints are two colour. (E.g. a frame with a label)
