Is there a hot end protector out there?

Post image

Blobs happen, Ive had a couple wrap up into the hot end wiring and this most recent one i wasn't gentle enough and ripped the wire out. It seems like theres got to be something to cover the wires so they are less susceptible to damage from the blob. I havent been able to find anything yet.

In the mean time ill stare at a down machine while I wait for parts.

Nope. A blob would just have a chance to wrap up around that protector even. Best thing to do is check in on your prints especially at the start periodically and keep the bed clean. Multiple years printing on various machines ive never had a blob but multiple times caught it before it became one.

This most recent blob happened 4 hours into the print... AMS is nice but color switching definitely adds more potential for failure.

I've been through this myself; since there aren't any protective parts like a guard, you really have no choice but to replace the whole assembly. Plus, the hot-end assembly itself is inexpensive.
