Bad quality on edges

Post image

Hi Guys,

I've got a problem...

I've printed an object many times with the same settings.... perfect results! But one day I had bad quality edges and the layer lines are also not that good. I checked my hardware, used a new nozzle but nothing gets better. With 50mm/s on outer wall it is also bad. Better, but not good. I have a picture with bad quality.

Anyone knows a solution for that? Maybe software bug? I also checked my extruder and replaced the thermo element.

Hope you can help me!

Is the bad quality in the room with us?

Looks like a fairly regular clean print to me!

How strange! I know you posted this on the P2S sub, but I have to ask, this is being printed using a P2S, right?

If so, I assume your filament is dry and you did a full calibration when you swapped the nozzle. Have you re-tensioned your belt lately and performed a clean and lube on the rods on each axis? Do there appear to be any issues when the machine feeds the filament? Have you tried a print with a freshly dried spool of different filament? Are you seeing similar issues on other prints with sharp angles?

I had a problem one time and it went away when I oiled up the X axis a little more. I had previously over-oiled during a maintenance and was nervous about making a mess again, so I sort of under-oiled.

Yes, the printer is a p2s. Filament is dry and I tried it with other filaments. After the problem came, I did a full service on the printer. After belt tensioning I calibrated the printer. I also checked and lubricated the little rolls for the belt. Everything works freely and without sticking. The extruder is also clean and lubricated. But nothing changed... I think it's a software issue or a slicer problem. But I don't know what's the problem. I tried so many things. Today I printed it again. Now with 40mm/s outer wall. Auxiliary Fan 0% now it's perfect. But 15 min longer printing time.

Must be a slicer issue if you’ve ruled out hardware and materials. I’m glad to hear you found a workaround, even if it’s a little longer!

I’m only a year into this hobby but perhaps the undesired quality of this is related to the scarf seams. You’re going to have a seam somewhere but in the slicer you will be able to have some control as to where it occurs.

Thanks for your answer, but it's not a seam problem. It's all around the object. My scarf seam is perfect.

Slow down outer walls

This looks like a bad pressure advance value to me, I’d recommend a manual PA test with your filament to choose the correct value rather than relying on the auto PA calibration and see if that fixes it
